The Australian Golf Federation announced on Friday, July 2 that Mark Leishman and Cameron Smith will compete in the Olympics. These two golfers will compete in the Olympics for the first time in their history.

When the news broke, Mark Leishman said he was proud to be elected. “Growing up as a golfer you never thought about representing your country at the Olympics. It would be so much fun to bring home a medal for his country,” said the 37-year-old golfer.
According to Cameron Smith, he is happy to defend the nation. “Whenever I get the chance to wear the Australian flag and wear green and gold, I am here,” suggested the 28th in the world.
