Brendan Gallagher joined his teammates after missing the start of training camp for family reasons.
Tyler Toffoli and Jeff Petrie also jumped on the ice after missing Sunday’s game at the Bell Center.
However, Gallagher, Toffoli and teammate Alexander Fortin wore dark-colored shirts and would not take part in Monday night’s game against Toronto. Jeff Petrie won’t encounter maple leaf either.
During his pre-match press conference, coach Dominique Ducharme said Gallagher should be able to play either in Friday night’s pre-season game in Ottawa or in Saturday night’s game against the Senators in Montreal.
Needless to say, the Canadiens coach is delighted to see “Gally” in the team’s entourage.
“He hasn’t changed. He’s still smiling. He has a lot of energy. We know that. He brings that energy into the locker room and into the ice,” Ducharme said. “
Newcomer Sami Nico skated with Team C at the High School rink.
The 24-year-old defender signed a two-part, one-year contract on September 24.
