A developer is integrating the Apple M1 chip into the iMac G4 and the least we can say is that the result has been very successful.
If manufacturers of electronic equipment regularly introduce new devices, it is still possible, to some extent, to make old new ones, so to speak. This is especially true with computer components, as long as we know how to do it, of course. Thus a developer succeeded in integrating a chip Apple Silicon M1 Old iMac G4.
The developer integrates the Apple M1 chip into the iMac G4
Apple Mac computers have evolved greatly over the years. With regard to processors, for example, the Cupertino company has moved from PowerPCs to Intel chips, and today it is back to home-made chips called Apple Silicon. And in fact, a few months ago, the Apple brand updated its desktop computer, the iMac, with a brand new the design and the M1 chip.
However, developer Colby Sheets seems to have decided to get their hands dirty, so to speak, by removing the M1 chip from the Mac mini and putting it in the iMac G4 no matter what. The iMac G4 was first released in 2002, with a hemispherical base and guidance screen attached to it. This is undoubtedly one of the most popular designs of the apple brand.
The result was very successful
In the video below, you can watch Colby Sheets show you his creations from every angle. The result is a perfect blend of vintage and modern. According to the developer, this creation was created to celebrate the life of the co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs, who would obviously have been very proud of this hybrid machine.
History doesn’t say whether it was difficult to remove the M1 chip from the Mac mini and transplant it into the iMac G4, let alone do the whole work, but it must be admitted that it was all very successful.
Celebrating Steve Jobs’ life and inspiration to so many, I wanted to show a passionate project I’ve been working on that I think Steve would be proud of. Something that wasn’t possible 20 years ago but is now.
