According to the U.S. Justice Department, Ebong Aloysius Tilan, along with his wife, Mary Nepa, have been filing false claims for nearly ten years seeking a refund for public health insurance. To maintain this pattern, the couple tried to seduce several witnesses significantly. Facts admitted in court before escaping from house arrest in 2016 where they were staying. Ebong Aloysius Thilong did not appear at his final hearing, when his verdict was announced.
Arrested in Cameroon in 2019, Thilong became the first Cameroonian to be deported to the United States. He arrived in Houston, Texas on Friday, December 10, accompanied by the U.S. Marshals Service. Yet according to US services, the police forces of the two countries cooperated closely in this matter. But it took two more years to sign the deportation law.
