as revealed The Hollywood Reporter, was chosen by studio Alcon Entertainment to direct the adaptation of a classic sci-fi film, released in the 1970s, Rendezvous with Rama, directed by Arthur C. Clarke.
The story of Rendezvous with Rama takes place in the year 2130 and centers on the mission of a team of astronauts, who are brought in to explore a massive ship of unknown origin that has entered the solar system.
For studio Alcon Entertainment, this novel is “One of the smartest works this genre has ever done“. He adds: “It asks as many questions as it provides answers, and is artistic work very current. (…]It is a work that perfectly fits the brilliant sense of our friend and collaborator Dennis and especially for his love and passion for science fictionDenis Villeneuve has already collaborated with this studio for Blade Runner 2049 and the Prisoners.
As a reminder, Denis Villeneuve is currently working on Part 2 of Dune, which is already slated for a release for 2023, as well as a series derived from Dune (Dune: The Sisterhood), not to mention another limited series called The Son, with Jake Gyllenhaal.
