Video Reviews for Maple Leafs-Canadiens
Broussard, QC – The Montreal Canadiens would be without the services of the veteran defender Jeff Petri indefinitely due to a lower body injury that occurred Thursday against the Florida Panthers.
Habs management announced Saturday morning as the team participated in an optional training session at the Bell Complex in Brossard in preparation for the Toronto Maple Leafs duel, in the evening, at the Bell Center.
Petri’s injury opens the door for the Swede William Lagson, who will play his first match with the Canadians. The Canadiens acquired Lagesson in a trade with Edmonton Oilers on Monday.
Canadians will also cross swords with maple leaves without the attackers Jonathan Drouin (upper body) and Brendan Gallagher (lower body). The latter should be absent for a week while Drouin will be on the sidelines for an indefinite period.
Athleticly eliminated from the playoffs by the Washington Capitals Friday night’s win over the Buffalo Sabers, the Canadians (17-37-10) will try to return to victory after losing the final two parts.
After this duel against the Maple Leafs, the Canadians will take the road to New Jersey to face the Devils there on Sunday evening. This will be the first of four consecutive away matches.
