Australia, who won the Asia Cup, are still in contention to retain their crown after defeating Japan in the quarter-finals.
With Yuda Watanabe unscathed, the Japanese gave it their all, but the Boomers still managed to win 99-85 To reach the semi-finals. They will fight for a place in the final against New Zealand, who won against Korea. 88-78. Australia and New Zealand will meet in their second consecutive semi-final since 2017.
On the other side of the table, Jordan and Lebanon will compete in their first finals in over a decade for both teams. Jordan was the first team to advance to the semi-finals with a huge win against Iran. 91-76 . It was their first win against Iran since 2011.
Lebanon also beat China for the first time in their 12th Asian Cup clash with a historic win. 72-69 . This is the first time since 2009 that Lebanon will play in the semi-finals. Of the remaining four teams, only Australia has already won the Asia Cup.
The two semi-finals will be played in Jakarta on Saturday and the champions will be crowned in Istora Senayan on Sunday.
