A course for living better with a chronic illness
Long Covid, diabetes, multiple sclerosis … Training gives Vodua the tools to better manage the difficulties of everyday life.
The Diabetes Association has revised and updated the content Of course Evivo To make it more interactive. The training is for people with chronic health problems (disability, cancer, diabetes, respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis, long covid…) and offers practical tools to more easily manage the difficulties and pain associated with illness on a daily basis.
Léonie Chinet, long-term secretary general of diabetes, explains that living with chronic health problems can be stressful. You can feel helpless. I think, for example, of people with multiple sclerosis who feel irritated and frustrated because they see no improvement. Looking for potential clients with other people who are experiencing this kind of problem is very motivating.”

In this group course, also open to relatives, participants learn to set concrete goals. “It’s a way to take back control of your daily life, live better and reduce stress,” says Léonie Chinet. It is possible that you have the right tools and know how to use them.” Among the techniques taught: Full concentration of the mindPositive Thinking and Body Scans… “Small exercises that test ways to break the cycle of symptoms.”
The new version of these courses (introduced since 2012) focuses more on interactions between participants who share their experiences. “They often tell us that they feel less alone,” says Léonie Chinet. Painters are also affected by chronic diseases.
The training is provided throughout the canton of Vaud and can be followed online. 2.2 million people in Switzerland have one or more chronic diseases.
