Shane Wright had not made his NHL debut yet.
The fourth edition of the general selection has only one point in six games and has been waived six times since the start of the season. This is not how it will develop properly, and the Kraken knows it.
That is why the possibility of him returning to OHL has been raised in the past few days. As long as you don’t make him play at the top, you might as well send him to the rookies so he’ll dominate and keep learning, right?
However, this idea does not necessarily appeal to the manager in question. What he wants is to stay with the seniors, even if he hasn’t tasted much excitement since his debut in the big league.
Anytime pick #4 gets a healthy scratch and play limited minutes, there will be questions.

Obviously I want to stay here for the long term. This is definitely the only focus and where I want to be, and I think I can be here. I think I can improve, prove to the coaches, and prove to my teammates, that I belong here. – Shane Wright
If that’s what the Kraken wants, this is the scenario that will happen. It’s not Wright who controls the decision, in the end.
However, we seem to stick with the idea of keeping him with the team on the management side in Seattle. The chances of him seeing him are low, as Darren Dreger has pointed out in the past few days.
It can only be loaned once to AHL and can stay for a maximum of 14 days. Dreger thinks this is something Kraken is considering and they are also looking to loan him to Canada for the WJHC.

However, there will be a possibility to see him play a few MLS games this year. However, there are several limitations associated with this possibility.
Wright could be loaned to the Kraken School Club if his coach left him five games in a row. However, he can only be loaned out once during the season and can stay for a maximum of 14 days in the basement, as we read in the tweet above.
What’s interesting to see is that there’s a chance that Team Kraken will send him to the World Junior Championships. We know that not all teams are willing to take that risk, but it can be a great experience for the little one.
Especially considering the fact that the Canadian team, led by Conor Bedard and Adam Fantelli, could be very exciting in the upcoming tournament.
