Rolling Stone magazine’s ranking of the greatest singers of all time has been making netizens react since Sunday.
Main point of dissatisfaction: forget about Quebec Celine Dion who is not among the 200 artists ranked.
“As a former Rolling Stone subscriber, I am shocked that the Queen of Music, Celine Dion, whose voice has been famous for decades! Showman and true star is not even on the list. Cancel all of this!” a surfer wrote on Twitter.
Celine Dion is not on Rolling Stone’s list of the greatest singers of all time. But Taylor Swift’s “yes,” another slammed.
In its article, Rolling Stone defined it as “a ranking of the greatest singers” rather than “the greatest voices”.
“Talent is remarkable. Genius is transcendent,” says the American magazine.
Issue 112 reads “Ozzy Osbourne didn’t have what people would call a great voice. But he sure is. “
Among other singers and singers who are forgotten in the ranking, we can note Madonna, Tony Bennett, Dionne Warwick, Nat King Cole or Jennifer Hudson.
