The institution appealed the federation’s decision in mid-December. Three independent referees met earlier this week and removed sporting penalties from the penalty package.
Thus, the formation of the team regained the right to participate in the playoffs and the championship game for the next season. So it will go up to Division 2 because of its performance over the past two years.
“We are glad we were finally able to put an end to this unfortunate event. We want to leave an unfortunate event behind and we want to move forward and face the challenges that lie ahead. Promotion to Division 2 and access to the playoffs will allow the leaders of our football team to prepare well for the 2023 season, especially in terms of recruiting new players, ”said in a press conference the general manager of Cégep. Beauce-Appalachian, Caroline Bouchard.
Cégep will still have to pay the cost of repairing the trophy, which was badly damaged by the players after the victory, according to various photos and videos on social media. The foundation will also have to pay a $10,000 fine.
But the RSEQ does not have a particu- lar user’s control of the day, to all the members of the condors, and comprising the personnel of the entrainers, dev- soumettre to a cours d’ethique proposition by the report of the mois de June.
The penalties are also accompanied by a two-year probationary period, so that recent events are taken into account in the event of a new incident involving Cégep Beauce-Appalaches in the near future.
