[EN VIDÉO] Paris protests: a French policeman was kicked in the back

A French policeman has been kicked by a demonstrator in Paris while he and other police patrol the city’s streets in an attempt to control protests against pension reform.

In the video posted on Saturday on Twitter by Media FutureCitizens can be seen following a group of policemen, phones in hand, booing the policemen with their “gang of bastards”.

Then a man appears from behind who runs and shoots at full speed at one of the police officers on patrol, who falls violently to the ground.

The video, which lasts about six seconds, does not show the rest.

The comments below the video are very divided, with some being angry at the violent gesture, and others taking the opportunity to criticize the police and government.

The streets of Paris have been the scene of violent protests since the French government activated Article 49.3 of the constitution, which can allow legislation to be passed in the National Assembly without a vote, as part of a pension reform.

Under this law, Emmanuel Macron’s government hopes to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64 by 2030.
