Scientific activities will be held in five localities on the occasion of the 18th of the 24 Hours of Science “the largest science and technology festival” on May 5-6.
Introduction of the organization Science for everyoneThe festival includes more than 300 activities that are presented throughout Quebec.
In Saint-Philippe, children from 7 to 15 years old can immerse themselves in the world of LEGO MINECRAFT brick construction and architecture, in the Vaisseau d’Or bookstore, on May 6, from 2 pm to 3:30 pm. Participants will learn how to build castles, bridges and personal Minecraft villages, according to the rules of architecture. The activity is free, but you must register by writing to [email protected].
At La Prairie, young scientists between the ages of 8 and 12 will have the opportunity to spin the top using the force of magnetism, at the Léo-Lecavalier Library, on May 6, between 10:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. They will experience the attraction and repulsion of magnets while making a game. In Candyac, it’s time to do alchemical experiments. The Candiac Library will be transformed into a science lab for youngsters, ages 8 to 12, on May 6, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. You can get more information at biblio.ville.candiac.qc.ca.
At Delson, science interns ages 9 to 12 will discover how electric current works through various means in the library on May 6, from 9 to 11 a.m.
In Saint Catherine, it will be possible to get books on science on May 5 and 6, from 10 am to 3 pm.
In addition, many online activities and conferences are offered throughout Quebec, incl Science for everyone Presenting 24 hours of virtual science, broadcast live from the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium, via the Science à la carte channel on Twitch, on May 5.
