The US Laval Basketball Division Board of Directors made a strong decision Thursday, July 6. The members decided that the National 2 team would not play their matches at Espace Mayenne but at the Laval multipurpose hall.
In a press release, the club’s president, Fabien Garnier, explained: “After two seasons of experience, we have to be realistic and rethink a coherent and attractive sporting and civic project for our club. Our sustainability at Espace Mayenne is, as it is, not financially viable for our structure.“

In this press release, the leaders of the American Laval Basket also made an appeal to the communities: “We dream of a joint, freely available Laval sports hall and adapt it to the needs of local high-level sports associations, where our N2 opponents can benefit. With this reflection, we invite our local authorities to conduct joint reflection on this topic.“
The Asppt Laval volleyball club, whose men’s team will also play in the National 2 next season, must play its matches in the Laval multi-purpose hall, which may become a full-fledged sports hall.
