FEP Invitation – August 22, 2023 – University of Montreal School of Continuing Education

At 5 p.m., hordes of students arrive. Finally, the stars of the day arrive. Frozen faces, tense faces. A few minutes later, when the fateful hour comes to get on stage, the excitement is palpable. The cup in the hands, the features of the face relaxing to the sound of the encouragement of loved ones; Flirtatious smiles dominate. Devotion to some, comfort to others, and finally confession to all.

It is an acknowledgment confirmed by the dignitaries in their profound and sincere speeches. Daniel Gutras, dean of the University of Montreal, praised the students for being “bearers of our greatest collective aspiration.” »

Michel Janusz, SCE dean and “big fan”, encouraged them to “pursue their ambitions” and urged the 359 CCE graduates who have cumulatively earned their baccalaureate to take time to celebrate their success.

The honorary alumnus of this fine evening, world-renowned journalist Tamara Alrescu, received her degree in journalism from FEP in the late 1990s and worked for years as a correspondent for Radio Canada in Russia, covering the conflict between Russians. And the Ukrainians are down to earth.

The representative of the FEP alumni, Najah Al-Jamal, concluded the ceremony by naming Alma Mater of the “Humanitarian” college. Man with his flexibility, opportunities, and capabilities. A very nice way to show the entire student group appreciation for the faculty, administrative staff, and the entire Office of Communications team.

Finally, everyone knows it. “Family and friends, I invite you now to ready your cameras for the moment we have all been waiting for. Dear alumni, I invite you to stand up. For this great success, and for all our future successes, we can say to ourselves: Hats off!”
