Since its launch at the Paris Motor Show in 2014, the Mercedes-AMG GT has been the sporting pride of the star brand. So it’s no coincidence to see her driving a Formula 1 team in co-sponsorship with Aston Martin. For 2024, the automaker has opted to tone it down a bit by equipping it with all-wheel drive and increasing its space to accommodate two additional seats.
The second generation AMG GT thus follows in the footsteps of the SL that was unveiled in 2021. Despite the “four-cylinder” shift of some AMG products, its twin-turbocharged 4-liter V8 still produces 469 or 577 hp depending on the color chosen. The nine-speed automatic transmission takes advantage of this power in coordination with the all-wheel drive system that favors the rear axle.

The coupe, which adopts a very elegant stylistic position similar to its predecessor, also grows in transition with an increased wheelbase of around 80 mm and an increased length of 171 mm to offer two decidedly cramped rear seats.

It’s all topped off with a four-wheel wishbone suspension and rear-wheel steering for agility. Mercedes-AMG will go on sale in Canada starting in the second quarter of 2024.
