In early August, the QMJHL confirmed what had already been up in the air for months: starting with the upcoming season, fights will be more closely regulated.
Misconduct and suspensions: All in place to discourage players from throwing down the gloves.
In Quebec, the decision was generally well received. Apparently a group of people (including Milan Lucic) are against it, but there is a large group in favor (including Matthew Barnaby).
This is done to protect the youngsters, especially since most of them will never play professionally.
However, today, the account Twitter Podcasting X Spit’s Chickletsit is a Internet The American decided to openly mock the Quebec junior circuit, which in their opinion gives us the status of the QMJHL in five years.
We see hockey players riding unicycles in the gymnasium. And apparently, there is no connection.

Needless to say, there are quite a few people in the comments who are having fun watching QMJHL.
This isn’t the first time it’s caused a reaction outside of Quebec, but in this particular case, it’s a little harder to take. Comedy/Criticism/Other Seriously, for one very simple reason: In the American college circuit, the NCAA, the policy affecting fights is similar A lot For the new policy adopted by QMJHL.
Ryan Whitney, one of the podcast’s hosts, played in the NCAA before turning professional. But that’s not mentioned, apparently.
In fact, the NCAA goes even further by mandating its players to wear full face shields, something the QMJHL does not. Still, that doesn’t stop the guys from Spittin’ Chiclets from mocking the QMJHL for adopting a less advanced policy than the one put in place by the NCAA a year ago. About twenty years.
Ryan Whitney played for Boston University in the NCAA — a league that doesn’t allow fighting and players wear full face masks. Is it a suggestion here that the QMJHL is five years away from playing under similar rules that Spit’s Chicklets hosted in college hockey 20-plus years ago? https://t.co/I2kYq1x99J

The truth is, laughing at the QMJHL is a winning formula in America. Obviously, there, we don’t miss an opportunity to laugh at the Quebec circuit, even if it means laughing at something in our own corner of the country.
It appears that what is good for a Quebecois kitty may not necessarily be for an American kitty.
I admit that I feel very sad about the whole thing, but in the end, the important thing is that the QMJHL makes the right decision for itself, regardless of what other people think.
Kudos to Mario Cecchini for that.

Speaking of American college football, the team led by Deion Sanders (who also plays with Deion’s son Travis Hunter and Shadiur Sanders) stole the show today with a huge win.
How about the Colorado debut of Shediur Sanders and Travis Hunter?
Sanders: 38-for-47, 510 yards (school record), 4 TD, 0 INT
Hunter: 11 catches for 119 yards, 3 tackles, 1 interception, played over 110 snaps
