Meghan Markle has apologized for missing the early days of the Invictus Games.

The sports competition, founded by Prince Harry for veterans and injured military personnel, began on Saturday (September 9, 23) Only yesterday, the Duchess of Sussex arrived in Germany, in Düsseldorf, where the “event” took place.
So the former actress gave her first speech during an evening of family and friends. “It’s very special to be here even though I’m a little late to the party,” she told guests. As many of you know, Invictus and Fischer House were created to bring family, friends and community together and I had to spend some extra time getting our little ones home ready. »
She said she dropped off her two children, Archie (four years old) and Lilibet (two years old), at school before boarding her flight from California to Germany. “Three milkshakes, one stop at school, and I arrived a few hours early. I’m thrilled to be able to do my first Invictus Games event with you. It’s amazing and I hear it’s starting out well,” she added.
Prince Harry’s wife then thanked the Fisher House Foundation for its support of the event. The organization helps families of hospitalized military and veterans. Nearly 100 Fisher houses were created in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany. “I had the opportunity to visit one of their homes in Los Angeles a few weeks ago, and I was very impressed with everything they do,” she continued. Rehabilitation is held in high esteem and should be experienced as a family, not just as an individual experience, as you (the organization) know, but you do it too and my husband does it too by creating the Invictus Games. I am so proud to belong to the Invictus family with all of you. »
Prince Harry founded the Invictus Games, in which wounded soldiers and veterans compete in sporting events, in 2014.
