[PHOTOS] Kim Thuy and Karen Vanasse dazzle on the red carpet in Raw

All of Quebec’s artistic elite gathered for the film’s premiere in Montreal RuMonday evening at the Place des Arts.

One of Quebec’s most anticipated films of the fall, Ru It is a film adaptation of the best-selling novel by author Kim Thuy, published in 2009.

Kim Thuy walked the red carpet with members of the film’s cast, including director Charles Olivier Michaud and actors Chloe Djange, Chantal Thuy, Jean Bui, Olivier Dinh, Xavier Nguyen, Karine Vanasse, and Patrice Robitaille.

Many other personalities were present at the premiere.

Directed by Charles Olivier Michaud (I(Based on a screenplay by Jack Davids)youths(The film narrates the journey of Tinh, a young Vietnamese woman (Chloe Djangi), who arrives in Quebec with her family at the end of the 1970s, after fleeing her country to escape persecution. The young girl, along with her parents and two younger brothers, will try to adapt to her new life with the help of a Quebecois couple (Patrice Robitaille and Karen Vanassi) who will offer to sponsor the new arrivals’ family.

The novel was published in October 2009 by Libre Expression RuIt is an autobiographical story that has been translated into about thirty languages and sold more than 540,000 copies around the world.

Ru It will be shown across Quebec on November 24. The film has already received a warm reception at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it had its world premiere last September.
