The Competition Bureau has obtained an order compelling Rogers Communications to provide it with documents relating to an investigation into its Infini cellular plans.
The federal regulator is investigating whether Rogers offers unlimited wireless data plans that are capped by reducing bandwidth — causing a significant slowdown in data speeds — when a certain data limit is reached.

The company defended its infinite plan by saying, in a statement sent to the media, that the conditions are clear.

Rogers currently offers on its website Infinite plans in which the data speed is limited to 1 gigabyte per second, a speed that is reduced after reaching a certain limit that varies depending on the plans offered. .
