French driver Johan Sarko has revealed the tension within his team after winning in Australia. Discussions came to an abrupt halt as the focus was particularly on George Martin for the world title, indicating a rift between Jargo and the team.
Sarko expressed his displeasure during a press conference, insisting that he will come at his own time from now on. The tensions were palpable, with one mechanic even attacking a journalist for removing photos of Martin’s wrecked motorcycle.
Despite these tensions, Sarco noted that Valencia has a more relaxed atmosphere compared to Qatar. He noted tension among mechanics, but pointed to progress after a dinner that allowed the team to recognize their accomplishments.
Jargo was recognized for his work and was awarded a watch for his performances this year, but joked about it being stolen by hotel staff.
Regarding his performance, Sarko admitted a weak point, noting the difficulties in handling the bike, especially when braking and cornering. Despite his speed, he said he couldn’t wrestle as well as he would have liked, highlighting a recurring problem throughout the year.
This year has been full of ups and downs for Zarco, with wins and a series of technical challenges on his Ducati.
