“It's like an old tank” – Christopher Letang

After a rough start to the season, the Pittsburgh Penguins are back in the playoff race.

Christopher Letang also had a funny way of explaining how his training works during an interview with Jean-Charles Lajoie.

“It's like an old tank. When you turn the switch on, it takes a while before it starts up again. Seriously, people are all talking about our core players getting older. At the end of the day, guys know how to win and they're still at the top of their game. “That being said, outside of the ice rink, it doesn't really affect us. We're creating great chemistry at the moment. There's been a lot of changes over the summer. Everyone is adjusting.”

If the Penguins are successful, it will certainly be due to a strong performance by Sidney Crosby. The Pittsburgh captain refuses to slow down.

“It's unbelievable what he's doing this year, at 36 years old. This is a player whose name should be in the Hart Trophy conversation. Just because he's not scoring as many points as others doesn't mean he's not just as important. He applies himself to the details in Incredible matches.

An amazing achievement by Marc-Andre Fleury

Letang also wanted to highlight the achievement of former teammate Marc-Andre Fleury. The latter recently moved into second place in NHL history in terms of wins.

“It's unbelievable what he's just accomplished. We knew how talented he was and that he was going to have a great career. To be able to pass Patrick Roy and now be second in history, it's an incredible achievement.

The Quebec defender adds that it couldn't have happened to a better person.

“He's the type of guy that shows up to the rink every day with the best work ethic you can possibly have. He has a great attitude and always brings life. There are always bad moments in the season, but he comes in smiling and changes guys' minds. He still keeps the locker room all lit up.” “He's a great teammate and he doesn't just think about himself.”
