The municipality of Lancy wants to ban commercial advertising in public places

On Thursday evening, a majority of Lancy City Council members voted in favor of a ban on commercial advertising through displays in public places. In short, 17 Socialist and Green elected officials pushed the project, the PLR and part of the MCG abstained from the vote while the PDC-vert'liberals group opposed it.

The municipal executive itself was “mostly supportive” of the project, notes Damien Bonfanti, environmental management consultant. He explains the reasons for this using a musical parallel: “When people listen to loud music in the street, they can be asked to turn down the volume. “If commercials bother us, we can't walk around with our eyes closed.”
