A particularly shocking scene was captured in a video showing a disabled woman who was forced to crawl down the stairs of a London Underground station due to a broken elevator.
The frustrated passenger filmed herself struggling at Dalston Junction station in north-east London after arriving late on Thursday night by train.
Footage shows staff laughing as Jenny Berry, 29, who uses a wheelchair in her daily life, had to drag her feet up the stairs.
To make matters worse, a technician announced that he had restarted the elevator just as Ms. Perry reached the top of the stairs.
Perry, who was trying to reach her hotel outside the station during a visit to the English capital, said she was particularly upset by the way TfL staff treated her, the Daily Mail reported.

The audience appeared just three steps from the top of the stairs. A man wearing a prominent orange jacket came to inform Ms. Perry that the elevator had been out of order for a month, adding: “You don’t know?”

After learning that the elevator had been repaired, Perry heard the man joking with a colleague: “She'll be happy now.”
Ms. Perry expressed her deep regret over this situation.
“As someone in a wheelchair, I'm not the first to have this happen and I certainly won't be the last. Things need to change quickly for travelers with disabilities,” she said.
“Total coffee aficionado. Travel buff. Music ninja. Bacon nerd. Beeraholic.”
