For Windows 10 and 11, the methods described above are fast and effective. However, both require deleting your files, which may not be what you want.
There are other, less radical techniques to free up storage space on your Windows 11 computer. The first is to move certain files to another storage medium (USB key, SD card, or external hard drive) with a simple copy and paste.
You can also uninstall programs. In fact, sometimes we tend to install apps, use them once and then abandon them. In this case, it's better to uninstall them, they take up storage space for nothing!
Another way is to remove unnecessary user accounts from your system. In fact, Windows allocates additional disk space to each user account for work. If other accounts are of no use to you, you can therefore delete them permanently from your computer.
To do this, go to Settings > Accounts > Other usersthen select and click the user profile you no longer want to keep wipe upThen on Delete account and data. A reboot of your system will be necessary to validate the changes made.
