Honestly, so far, we can't say that the NHL's conference finals aren't providing us with a great spectacle.
In fact, we are really spoiled with the two semi-finals, while all the matches are very close with a very high standard of play.
Last night, Game 2 of the series between the Florida Panthers and New York Rangers was no exception.
Rangers series tied on Barclay Goodreau's goal in overtime
After winning Game No. 1 by a score of 3 to 0, the Panthers had a chance to deal a blow to the Rangers last night by winning the first two games of the series at Madison Square Garden.
However, the Rangers, who have not scored a goal in this series, are not going to give up that easily and they proved that last night by winning Game 2.
The game was very close from start to finish, with both teams playing extremely defensively, giving their opponents almost no chance.
The intensity level was through the roof, and let's just say there was toughness per square foot in this very physical match.
We only have to look at what follows after the first goal of the game scored by Vincent Trocheck.

Dmitry Kulikov's check on Alexander Wennberg in the first period is also a great example of the intensity level of this match.

This strike was reviewed for a potential five-minute major penalty, but in the end Kulikov was only penalized for two minutes for his action.
Leading 1-0, the Rangers appeared to be headed back to the locker room with the lead, but Carter Verhaeghe, once again enjoying an excellent series, decided otherwise by firing a pinpoint shot on the power play near the end of the first period.
Then, in the third period, once again, the intensity was there, and that was again thanks to Kulikov who picked up none other than the great Matt Rempe, who replaced Kaapo Kakko this evening in training.

The match eventually went to overtime, and that's when a dark hero stood up, as Barclay Goodreau caused hysteria in Madison Square Garden with a stunning volley.

Note that during this extension, Peter Laviolette sent Matt Rempe out onto the ice, something that truly surprised and impressed the tough young man.
In short, the Rangers avoided the worst, tying the series.
We will now move on to Florida, while the next two games will be at sunrise, including Game 3 on Sunday afternoon, starting at 3 p.m.
The series is equal to 1 to 1.
