Independent filter | Robert Kennedy Jr. complains about not being able to debate Joe Biden and Donald Trump

(Washington) – Independent White House candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. complained to his campaign agency that he was excluded from the televised debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, his campaign team said Wednesday.

The nephew of assassinated President John Kennedy accuses CNN, which is scheduled to broadcast the first live meeting between Biden and Trump on June 27, of excluding him from the debate.

His lawyers filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission on Tuesday, saying that Joe Biden's team explicitly requested that he not attend, noting that US media reported that Donald Trump “received assurances from CNN that Mr. Kennedy would be excluded.”

Also at the heart of the complaint: a commitment given by the channel, to participate in the discussion, to appear on the ballots of a sufficient number of states by June 20.

However, this environmental law attorney, rejected by much of the Kennedy clan, is only registered in seven states at present.

Kennedy has almost no chance of winning in November, with just over 10% voting intentions in the polls. But both Democrats and Republicans are concerned about its impact in key states, where it could swing undecided votes to one side or the other.
