In the midst of a heat wave, an equipment failure caused a power outage in western Montreal, where tens of thousands of people were without power early Tuesday evening.
Up to 37,000 customers were affected by this outage.
Ile Bizard and the West Island were therefore affected by an outage that was a mystery to some.
Jacques-Cartier's deputy Gregory Kelly also pointed the finger at X, asking Hydro-Québec if the company had more information.
“Another water outage in Quebec on the West Island [sic]…And another blessing… For several years, it was non-stop,” denounces a netizen on X.
For another client, “He's not back here yet […] but I wish [que ce sera] Come back at night otherwise it will get hot quickly.
Others claimed the power outage ended, then a new outage began just minutes later.

A Hydro-Québec spokesperson was unable to confirm to QMI the exact cause of the equipment failure.
