We are getting closer and closer to the first round of the NHL Draft. The teams are in the final discussions stage and preparing the final lists in preparation for June 29.
And with a draft that promises to be completely unpredictable, we can believe these rosters vary widely across Bettman's circle.
The Canadian, with the fifth pick, might prefer to select a striker. However, Kayden Lindstrom's health issues mean, as my colleague Charles Alexis Brisebois pointed out, that the idea of selecting a defenseman isn't crazy either.
It wouldn't be my first choice, but…
Out of the lot, Sam Dickinson (who believes he can play in the NHL this fall) seems to be the fan favorite, and he clearly has no fear. In reality, As told to Mark Masters (TSN)CH met him at sum He asked him what he would do if Arber Shikaj wanted to fight with him during training.
Dickinson, who has never fought, says he wouldn't hesitate to do so.
Sam Dickinson: “There's a lot of really special guys in this draft, but I don't think there's one guy who has everything I have…”
&, if that's not enough, @LondonKnights Blueliner even told Habs he would be willing to fight Arber Xhekaj 👇https://t.co/HtK8YAngLg

We know that CH used Xhekaj as an example to measure the strength and “recklessness” of his hopes sumObviously, Dickinson was asked about this.
This is obviously easier said than done… but he made it clear that he would do it to try to gain some respect within the group.
In the same interview, Masters also asked Dickinson, a Toronto native, if he was a Maple Leafs fan growing up… and the answer was surprising: It wasn't just that he didn't like the Maple Leafs. Leafs (In fact, he hated them), but he was more than pro-Canadians.
It was his father, a huge CH fan, who led him to become a Montreal fan.

So we can imagine that if the defender is CH's choice, his father will not necessarily be unhappy to see his son join his favorite team.
And if that happens, I wonder if Xhekaj will tease the young man a bit regarding these comments. Not to put gloves on him, but to remind him that he is the sheriff of the city, after all.
