good. The Stanley Cup is now behind us and the question CH fans are asking themselves is: Who will be drafted with the fifth right to speak in the next auction?
Obviously there are many options on the table. I count, to varying degrees, about ten candidates whose names are likely to be called out by Canadians – to varying degrees – in fifth place.
We're talking about Kayden Lindstrom, Ivan Demidov, Beckett Sinek, Teague Iginla and the top six defensemen in the auction.
We can think realistically, considering that guys like Anton Silayev and Artyom Levshunov will be among the first, and that Kayden Lindstrom and/or Ivan Demidov have a chance to be available for CH.
If both are, Arpon Basu seems to think CH might favor Lindstrom.
MAG: “What's your best guess for the Habs' top 5 draft list?”
Arbon Basso: “If I had to guess, taking Celebrini out of the equation… I assume Hab expects two D-men to make the top four (Levshunov, Silayev).
1. Lindstrom
2. Demidov
3. Buium
4. Siniki
5. Iginla pic.twitter.com/YxexwPTFef– /r/Habs (@HabsOnReddit) June 25, 2024
But we shouldn't rule out the option of seeing the Hawks project Demidov and seeing the Blue Jackets land Lindstrom. Not necessarily likely, but possible.
And there, what do you do?
In such a scenario, Zeev Boyum. Sam Dickinson (Who has potential as a No. 1 defender), Silayev and Levshunov would be the most logical names to trade around town among defencemen. Because yes, at that point, that would be a possibility.
On this topic, it is interesting to note that the Montreal Canadiens management will meet again with Anton Silayev, the great left defender who resembles Zdeno Chara.
Anton Silayev, the NHL's No. 1-ranked international skater who is participating in the NHL Draft, will arrive in Vegas tomorrow. He has already met with the top five teams and I heard he has scheduled lengthy interviews and some medical and physical tests this week with all of the top ten teams.

The meeting will be held in Vegas, according to David Pagnotta.
Hope should arrive in town today, and even if the team boss has already met him earlier in the month, he clearly has further questions to ask him about the future.
Note that this is not an isolated case as all clubs that have an option in the top ten will do the same with this prospect whose attacking potential is not the highest.
Note that despite everything, the Ducks have a good chance of drafting him third overall.
