In a post on Twitter, the minister indicated that he was waiting for an “opinion from public health to harmonize the period between 4 weeks and more.”
The current general health recommendation for children ages 12 to 17 remains a period of eight weeks or longer.
Since Tuesday, Quebeckers over the age of 17 can bring forward their appointment to receive their second dose just four weeks after the first.
Before this change, people who were vaccinated for the first time had to wait eight weeks before they could receive their second dose of the vaccine.
