A batch of anti-mask gets sour

A company in Joliet had to call in police reinforcements two days in a row this week to flush out anti-mask activists who wanted to make the news, so one of them is now being charged with a criminal offense.

François Amalija Bitondo, the leader of the anti-sanitary movement, went to Juliette’s court on Friday. He was due to appear before him on four charges this week.

According to Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Mr Amalega Bitondo joined dozens of anti-mask protesters who attempted to shop in Canadian tires in Juliette without a face covering, still mandatory, on Wednesday.

The police quickly evacuated the group. Then this group demonstrated until Thursday in the parking lot of the profession, while filming its sad scene, under the eyes of the policemen who were watching.

He was arrested and released on Wednesday with a promise to appear and charged with disturbing the peace. On Thursday, he tried again to enter Canadian Tire without a mask, although he was not allowed to return. Lieutenant Benoit Richard of SQ explains.

The Director of Criminal and Criminal Prosecution (DPCP) confirms to magazine François Amalija Bitondo was released on Friday under a promise to reappear on September 15. Until then, he is forbidden to go to the Canadian Tire in Joliette and communicate with the management of the company.
