A fight broke out between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Rams during a joint practice Thursday.
Blows and helmets were also thrown. So much so that Raiders coach Jon Gruden had to get his players back on the bus.
The tension was already being felt on Wednesday, but things took a turn for the worse today.
Enough nonsense. An hour later, Gruden said, back at the hotel:
“They’re better than that. Not everyone fought, but it will be on TV. You’ll see a group of guys yelling at each other, but it’s over between two guys from special teams. The rest was Bullshit that degenerated. It’s disgusting, stupid. This is childish. “
Rams coach Sean McVeigh said he was disappointed that he finished training earlier than expected.
“We were almost done, so that was the decision to make given the tension. I didn’t see what happened, but I’m just glad no one was hurt. It’s a pity we didn’t have time to finish, but that’s all I have to say about it.” “
Defensive Rams Intervention Aaron Donald, who was not in uniform Thursday due to Veterans Day, revealed that it was nothing new for him.
“Honestly, every time I attended a joint training there was a skirmish. I was sure it was physical yesterday, I was sure it was going to explode today,” Donald said.
“I love the fighting spirit, and I think it’s good for the team a bit,” added Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. “Everyone is tired at this point in the camp. It doesn’t bother me as long as no one gets hurt.”
