A large fire has been burning in New Jersey since 5:30 a.m. Friday, just south of Newark Airport.
It's an industrial complex that caught fire. Dozens of firefighters were on the scene to control the fire after a fourth alarm.
At approximately 9:30 a.m., the fire was not under control. Part of the building has already collapsed, according to Elizabeth City officials.
The cause of the fire is unknown. No deaths or injuries were reported.
The authorities are closely monitoring the fire and the plume of smoke rising from it due to its proximity to the airport.
Air traffic has not been disrupted at this time due to smoke.
Huge columns of black smoke covered the sky for miles, as far as Manhattan Island and the Staten Island area.
