The new feature was spotted in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android 2.24.14.7. It will use Meta’s Llama AI to generate images from a set of user-submitted images or even text commands. To create this custom avatar, WhatsApp asks users to take photos of themselves that will be used to train Meta’s AI. From these photos, Llama will be able to reproduce images of themselves in different contexts. From now on, users will be able to use a text command by typing “Imagine me” with a more specific description within the app’s settings or in other WhatsApp conversations by typing “@Meta AI Imagine me…”.
This feature has already been reported on for some time, but now we have a glimpse of what it could offer in terms of display thanks to the screenshot below.
This feature will not be forced on users out of respect for personal data. Users will need to enable the option within WhatsApp settings. WABetainfo, It specifies that the images used to train the AI can be deleted from the settings. The tool is also unable to read users' private conversations. A security measure has been found in other applications, so it is possible to deny access to our data to train the AI on Instagram and Facebook.
At the moment, since the company has not officially announced the feature, no release date has been announced. Meta AI, Zuckerberg’s new assistant, continues to be developed and rolled out across all of the group’s apps: Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger, and even the Quest headset.
