Asus announces ROG MJOLNIR portable gaming powerhouse, insists it's not an April Fool's joke

Last year, Asus announced ROG Ally (currently $399.99 at Best Buy) on the first day of April. Naturally, everyone thought it was a joke, but then the company confirmed the existence of the device and launched it. This year, Asus seems to be on the same path by announcing the ROG MJOLNIR for gamers.

Asus hasn't revealed much about this other than it's not an April Fool's joke. But from the teaser image it is clear that the ROG MJOLNIR is, if not a joke, then a portable power station for gamers. The image reveals that it is equipped with four power sockets, two USB Type-C ports, and two USB Type-A ports.

As its name suggests, the Asus ROG MJOLNIR is inspired by Norse mythology https://www.worldhistory.org/Norse_Mythology/. To be precise, its design resembles the legendary Thor's hammer. While the name and design may seem like an April Fool's joke, the company actually has a line of Thor power supplies Thor power supply range.

Although Asus didn't go into detail about the design, it appears that the ROG MJOLNIR grip can double as a torch. Since the supposed power station is designed for outdoor play, the inclusion of a light source makes sense. The teaser image also shows a display on the front and the usual ROG features.
