Australia is funding research to plan four Vietnamese airports
The Ministry of Transport has approved the revision of draft documents for study, evaluation and recommendations related to research findings on the planning of Da Nang, Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc International Airports for 2021-2030. as well as the planning scheme for Khon Tao Airport for the period 2021-2030.

The project is part of the 2017-2021 technical support for the transport sector benefiting from grant support from the Australian Government. The project will review and evaluate the planning proposals for Cam Ranh International Airports, Da Nang and Phu Quoc. The period 2021-2030, with a vision for 2050, was finalized by national consultants.
In addition, it will make recommendations on planning projects or propose planning ideas (if necessary) to the National Consultants for further implementation and finalization of planning reports. It will make recommendations on the types of flights to operate, propose planning guidelines for Côn Dao Airport and organize technical seminars to improve the capacity of relevant parties.
Project benefits will be implemented until June 2024 through a non-repayable grant from the Aus4Transport program of 713,000 Australian dollars (over 450,000 US dollars).
