Australia to fund technological innovation in Vietnamese agriculture

The initiative aims to provide targeted funds to support projects implemented on a pilot basis to address challenges and exploit opportunities in Vietnam’s innovation system.
The Aus4Innovation program is managed and implemented by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) in partnership with the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology. It has already supported three rounds of funding, funding a total of 12 projects, all of which have yielded positive results.
Grants ranging from 250,000 to 700,000 Australian dollars will be awarded to cooperation projects between Vietnam and Australia. Recipients will have up to 24 months to implement the proposed activities.
Under the theme “High-tech innovation to address the challenges of agriculture for sustainable development”, the cycle will welcome ideas that use technology to address challenges related to improving productivity in production and transformation in production and use of agricultural resources, development of markets for agriculture. products.
Since 2018, the Australian government has been helping Vietnam build an innovation ecosystem through its flagship Aus4Innovation program. As a final decision, the project has been extended until 2028, with a total budget of 33.5 million Australian dollars over 10 years.
