Just before the media eclipse created by the pandemic, images of Australia in flames went around the world. Three years later, the scars of the disaster are still evident and the memories linger in the minds of Australians. Journalist Clemens Pavic describes the still more visible scars from these fires, increasing the likelihood of these events happening again.
