La Voie Maltée brewery announced on its Facebook page that it will stop operating at its restaurant, located on the Place de la Cité in Quebec City, on Saturday at midnight.
This restaurant opened in July 2018 in the location of another high place for Quebec nightlife, Beaugarte.
The branch occupied an area of 10,000 square meters.2 Offer 275 places. Three million dollars was invested in the venture that was intended to create a hundred jobs.
In its message, the company that this year celebrates its twentieth foundinge Anniversary, it invokes “the current post-pandemic context” and “it becomes increasingly difficult to operate the large area to give the Malty Way experience”.
The company wanted to reassure the fate of its three other restaurants by writing that “the group is still doing very well” and that “the other (in Quebec) branch on Rue Pierre Bertrand is still open and will soon offer a brand new pizza menu.”
The La Voie Maltée production plant is located in the Chicoutimi district.
The group has a restaurant in this sector, on Rue Talbot, as well as on Rue Saint-Dominique, in the Jonquière district.
