The Montreal Canadiens begin their trip to California tonight when they visit the Anaheim Ducks to snap their four-game losing streak.
Martin St. Louis’s team continues a five-game losing streak after losing 5-2 to the Boston Bruins last Saturday.
John Gibson will be the starting goaltender for the Ducks while Samuel Montembault will guard CH.
Defenseman Jayden Strobel will play his first NHL game tonight. He will be alongside Gustav Lindstrom in the third pair of defenders.
The head coach has decided to shuffle the cards for the first game this week on the American West Coast. Brendan Gallagher will be moved to the first line alongside Nick Suzuki and Alex Newhook.
On the local side, the Ducks confirmed that Quebec defender Tristan Lenot will be in the squad. The 19-year-old rookie has played two matches this season and is yet to collect a point. Lono will be used with Cam Fowler as the first pair of defensemen.
Anaheim will be able to rely on young center Leo Karlsson in tonight’s game. The second pick in the latest draft collected eight points, including six goals, in 12 games.
Anaheim will also try to get back to winning ways after losing its last three games.
Among those injured, CH announced during the week that Rafael Harvey Benard will be out for six to eight weeks. Defenseman Jordan Harris was placed on injured reserve Tuesday with a lower-body injury.
