Beijing has launched measures against Washington before the World Trade Organization. China believes the US is violating international trade rules with its restrictions on exporting US semiconductors to China.
In October, the United States announced new export restrictions to limit Beijing’s ability to buy certain types of semiconductors.
There are many disputes between the two countries: the imbalance in trade relations, the situation in Hong Kong, US relations with Taiwan, human rights and technological competition. However, at the G20 summit in Bali, China and the US agreed to improve their trade relations.
Days before the restrictions on the export of these chips, the US Department of Defense added 13 new Chinese companies to the blacklist. Washington presented these companies with alleged links to the Chinese armed forces.
