Cleaning workers are on strike in front of the “Space City”, denouncing the lack of employment contracts and the “unjustified” dismissal of employees

Basic
Since yesterday, employees of the cleaning company GSF have been on strike in front of the Cité de l'espace. They particularly condemn the unjustified dismissal of three employees and the lack of employment contracts for them.

Employees of professional cleaning company GSF, working at the Cité de l'espace site, have been on strike since Tuesday morning. With the support of the CGT and the cleaning union 31, they demand the immediate reinstatement of three employees targeted for dismissal due to gross misconduct, which in their opinion is unjustified. The reason was an altercation with an employee of the Cité de l'espace. “We never knew the nature of this mistake,” Asmahan explains, worried about the dismissal.

There is no contract and unstable working conditions.

The strikers also demand the reclassification of the employment contract for employees “who work and have worked without a contract.” Fatima claims that she worked for the Social Security Corporation from September to October, without the company asking her to sign an employment contract. “I was scheduled to stop working at the end of October, but the GSF announced that I was relinquishing my position,” she sighs. Now that she is unemployed, Fatima cannot claim her rights with Pôle emploi.

The strikers also denounce the instability of their working conditions. They demand that unpaid overtime be regulated, that the Social Security Fund provide them with household products (which employees sometimes have to buy themselves) and adequate protection. “We work without gloves or safety shoes,” says Lamia, one of the employees affected by the layoff.

Disciplinary proceedings continue

For its part, GSF explained that there are three ongoing disciplinary procedures against its three employees, and that management will not comment on this matter. In response to a question about the strikers' demands, the administration believes that all administrative procedures have been respected and that regular monitoring of the equipment is being carried out. The Labor Inspectorate has been informed.
