An Amazon customer got quite frightened on Saturday when she discovered a spectacled cobra in her package next to the Xbox console she ordered.
The young Indian woman, who recounted her failed adventure on Reddit, said, according to the Independent newspaper: “The snake has been identified as a possible spectacled cobra, a highly venomous species native to the state of Karnataka.”
The crocodile was unable to escape from the box because it remained attached to the adhesive tape of the package, according to the young woman, who specified that fortunately none of her family members were bitten in the residence.
“Despite the danger, Amazon customer service shut us down for more than two hours, forcing us to deal with the situation alone in the middle of the night,” the Bengaluru-based woman told X.
Even if the multinational company agrees to pay the order in full, the customer does not intend to stop there, because he is thinking of filing a complaint, even though the snake has been released into its natural habitat.
“This is clearly a security lapse caused solely by Amazon’s negligence, lack of cleanliness and supervision in transportation and storage,” she complained. Where is the responsibility for such a serious security error?
