A day after signing goalkeeper Harry Satri, the Toronto Maple Leafs lost their services after the Arizona Coyotes demanded a waiver of their waivers on Monday.
Satri had to be shown to the other teams at the Pittsman circuit before he could play for the Leafs. He played for Sibir Novosibirsk, in the Continental Hockey League, this season.
The Finn went 14-16-5 in the regular season, with a 0.926 save percentage and 2.02 goals-to-average. He also won the gold with Finland at the Beijing Olympics in February.
The other goalkeeper that the Leafs relinquished on Sunday, Peter Mrazek, did not claim an attack by another Pittman League team.
In addition, defender Derek Beaulieu was also pleased with the concessions, as he will continue his career with the Seattle Kraken. The Vegas Golden Knights recently agreed with the Canadian defender the terms of a two-part contract.
The Vancouver Canucks played the same trick on the Calgary Flames by claiming Brad Richardson. The veteran, who played 852 National Hockey League games, was knocked out of his only season for a deal that earned him $800,000.
Riley Nash (Coyotes), Kyle Torres (Edmonton Oilers), Christian Garros (NJ Devils) and Kyle Clifford (Maple Leafs) will report to their farm clubs, which were also subject to exemptions on Sunday.
