Economy Minister Pierre Fitzgibbon is not short of self-criticism.

As he passed through the Bombardier Recreational Products facilities today in Estrie, he struck a pose while riding an electric motorcycle, winking at his own image that got many Quebecers talking over the summer.
In August, he said the number of cars on Quebec’s roads must halve to achieve carbon neutrality in 2050.
He added at a press gathering in Parliament to explain his position: “Consumer habits must change.”
Then, on the same day, a photo of him getting a shiny BMW motorcycle appeared on social media.
It was published by Montreal’s Gabriel BMW Motorrad dealership to highlight the purchase made earlier in July.
“With motorcycle photos going viral lately, I couldn’t help but take a photo with the latest electric motorcycle model developed by @BRPnouvelles! for the archive. Who knows, I might get one in 2024.”
As tempted by a teaser on Friday, the Prime Minister shared the message from his supervising minister, adding: “Photo of Montreal Journal.»
