An Australian gold digger has found a huge gold nugget worth $160,000 in Victoria. Explanations.
This giant gold nugget was found in the area golden triangle, between Ballarat, Bendigo and St Arnaud. Darren Kamp, a member of the store Lucky Strike Gold, estimated the weight of the gold-rich rock at 4.6 kilograms and the precious metal at 2.6 kilograms.
The discovery is particularly interesting as gold prices are currently at record highs. Also, the state of Victoria was one of the largest gold-hunting sites in the 19th century.
In recent years, gold miners have discovered more gold in this part of the world. The Geological Survey of Victoria estimates there may be up to 2.1 million kilograms of undiscovered gold in the central and north-central parts of the state.
