Nick Forrester is a caring father who wanted to please his daughter on her birthday. They decide to celebrate by going to McDonald’s, even though the parents are not big fans of fast food.
The family visited the restaurant in Stoke-on-Trent, southern Britain, where there is a children’s play area. The children were playing and eating, and the Christmas party lasted longer than expected. However, Nick did not expect that it would cost him so dearly.
In fact, Nick received a fine from the company that operates the restaurant’s parking lot because he parked his car for too long. A ParkingEye spokesperson explained that there are signs that clearly indicate conditions, including a 90-minute limit for McDonald’s customers. Although Nick was furious, he had to pay a £100 fine for parking, which is about €100.
When Nick hears the news, he asks to see the manager of McDonald’s, but he explains to him that he does not manage the parking lot. Nick is very disappointed and says he will never go back to McDonald’s. Although it may seem like a trivial story, these parking issues can sometimes get in trouble for innocent customers.
It is not surprising that Nick is not the first customer who has had parking problems at McDonald’s or other supermarkets. Customers who want to spend more time than the maximum allowed are often penalized with fines. This situation can be frustrating for families who want to spend quality time together.
Anyway, the fast food chain loses a customer and has to deal with the bad publicity. Maybe McDonald’s should review their parking policies to prevent this from happening again in the future.
