Here are some tips to avoid long waits at the airport this summer

Montreal Trudeau International Airport expects to receive a large number of travelers this summer.

In an email sent to QMI, Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) indicates that the number of monthly passengers is expected to reach 2.2 million passengers this summer, in June, July and August, or approximately 6.6 million in total.

“For the summer period, we again expect strong growth compared to last year, the most significant among major Canadian airports,” noted Eric Forrest, consultant and media relations for Montreal Airports.

Here are some tips to avoid heavy crowds during the next three months and not to wait long at the site.

Facilitate your access

The airport states that a quick drop-off point has been established to the west and east for the hosts in order to facilitate the coming and going process. It is available between 1pm and 8pm, i.e. during peak hours, ADM said in a press release.

At the airport site it is also possible to park for free for 40 minutes in most car parks until the end of September.

There are also three CellParc parking lots that allow users to park for two hours for free.

For departing passengers

Remember, it is recommended to arrive three hours before your flight so that you have enough time to go through the entire boarding process.

ADM also emphasizes that it is possible to complete an airport processing form in advance as two apps are available: Mobile Passport Control (flights to the US) and YUL Express (international, domestic and cross-border flights).

For those who come back

In order to reduce wait time at the border control area, ADM also recommends pre-filling out your Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) declaration, via ArriveCan.

This process is possible up to 72 hours before you return to the country for this.
