Many were surprised by the ice storm that hit the south of the province on Wednesday. To avoid unpleasant surprises or to deal with the current situation, some will want to get a generator, but it can be annoying if you don’t know where to start.

There are several types of generators, i.e. gasoline, propane or diesel powered.
Michel Veilleux, in “À vos affaires”, explains to you how to choose.
He recommends choosing an “Easy [d’utilisation]a small shape that we can carry around” and that can operate a refrigerator or freezer “basically to keep our food.”
Diesel generators, says Mr. Veilleux, are recommended for companies and businesses that have energy-intensive appliances to connect.
“For Mr. and Mrs. everybody, it’s going to be gasoline because that’s the most readily available,” says our expert.
For people working from home who have to use a computer, “we’re going to get big machines with an ‘inverter’, so a very clean stream, where we can plug computers directly in or we can go into our panel at home.”
